Life Raft and Survival Equipment
Moving Up, Expanding Service
Portsmouth, RI – Life Raft and Survival Equipment, Incorporated (LRSE), the New England company that furnishes mariners with safety equipment, advice, and training is set to open the doors to their new home on January 4, 2010. Currently based in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, LRSE is consolidating two existing facilities into one central location on Fish Road in Tiverton, Rhode Island, a half mile from Route 24.
The move will satisfy the need for space and flexibility to accommodate LRSE’s expanding core services of life raft and inflatable boat and safety equipment maintenance, repair, sales, and rentals for recreational and commercial customers. Other key services include EPIRB testing and battery replacement, inflatable Man Overboard equipment service, and immersion suit testing, inspection and repairs.
The new 25,000 square foot service center and retail store will more than double the service area and allow ample room for life raft displays. Plans also call for a dedicated space to host training and seminars, two areas in which LRSE is experiencing robust growth. The new store will feature more in the latest safety equipment and expanded product lines dedicated solely to safety at sea.
Life Raft and Safety Equipment President, James O’Connor, who is also the past President of the U.S. Marine Safety Association (USMSA), founded Life Raft and Survival Equipment 25 years ago. Staff members are the foremost experts in marine safety outfitting and operate one of the largest U.S. Coast Guard approved servicing facilities in the country. LRSE is the only company in the United States to offer training for the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) approved offshore personal survival course certificate.
